Old Fort, North Carolina: Andrews Geyser
Alexander Andrews was VP of the Southern Railroad, which built this "geyser" (actually a fountain) as a tourist attraction circa 1885. Warning: if it's been dry, the gravity fed geyser doesn't work so well, and the owners turn it off.

Andrews Geyser is a man-made geyser built as a tribute to Alexander Andrews of Raleigh. The water is piped several hundred yards down stream from a nearby creek through a fairly large pipe then through a small nozzle to create the geyser. The state marker and the one on site do not agree on the construction date.
