The scrap metal T-Rex is still there.

T-Rex looks good as new as of December 2016! There are several others throughout the town.
[BCarman, 01/22/2017]It seems to have fallen into some disarray and has collapsed under its own weight.
[Joe Rapp, 05/16/2015]I came across a very tall and furious-looking T-Rex! I was traveling through Stamford, Texas for the first time in my life and was surprised to see such a sight! Then only a few minutes later (a street or two down the road) I came across two insect sculptures and another dinosaur sculpture sitting across the street from a beautiful park with a pond named Harmon Park also in Stamford, Texas. The upright T-Rex dino was next to an old auto shop owned by Johnny Anders (the man who made these sculptures). The other three appear to be: a medium sized dinosaur with a little bucket seat attached for photo-ops, a centipede, and a praying mantis. All of these appear to be made of auto parts.
[Amber Harkins, 02/13/2009]Johnny Anders is not just a builder of dinosaurs and giant bugs, he's also the mayor of the town. His T-rex stands 22 feet tall.
