Old Trapper's Lodge Statues

The Old Trapper's Lodge statues are alive and well at Pierce College, which has grown from 13,000 to 23,000 students in the last ten years.

Just want to make a correction to Tibor's statement: Pierce College did not sell one iota of its 426 acres to developers or anyone else. The condominium development on Warner Ridge is on land that never belonged to Pierce College, although we did grant them a right of way to drive through our entrance during their construction.

The exciting construction and renovations to our 60-year old campus are courtesy of three bond measures passed by voters to improve L.A. Community Colleges.

Old Trapper's Statues

The statues are still located in Pierce College, and you'll be happy to know that the college is far from fading. I should know -- I'm a not-so-happy neighbor who has listened to, and encountered the mess that has been going on for almost a year during major construction. The roads, the parking lots, and several buildings are being rebuilt throughout the school. I believe they sold some of their extensive property on the southwest end of the campus to developers, and that has given them a windfall to renovate.

It looks like Pierce College, and probably the statues, will be around for the long haul.
