I am sorry that the last tipster was unable to find it, but there it sits, just waiting for the dapper giant who needs her/his clothing pressed. It sits in a cute triangle-shaped park at the corner of Central Avenue, 14th Street, and Wilson Boulevard.
[Alexis Webb Bechtold, 12/23/2017]I went over to this area twice within a month's time to try and find this iron. I guess it is no longer there, because I could not find it. Where I believed it to possibly be, there was construction going on in that area. It appears to no longer exist.
[Lisa, 09/05/2016]Sculpture of Iron
Old fashioned Iron statue - large IRON sculpture, literally! This is a little "park" located on the triangle where a "cockeyed" road (Wilson Blvd) meets a straight one (OLD HWY 32 or Central Ave). Located here is a strange statue (for lack of a better word.
While you are there, look across the street at the beautiful former fire station. Take special notice of the gargoyles in the upper corners.
