Louisville, Kentucky: Jerry's Junk (Closed)

The yard and house were packed with big, odd items. Impressive; not a typical hoard. Jerry Lotz, who passed away in July 2019, had a good eye for the crazy. Estate auction in September 2019.

Jerry Lotz passed away earlier this summer. His estate and collectibles will be auctioned off at 1700 Mellwood Ave on Sept 27/28 at 10am.

Was closed and Jerry came out and told us some stories. Cool guy. Would have liked to buy him dinner and talk all day.

The owner was outside in his yard. He gave us a tour and a bit of history on many items in his collection. I think he enjoyed talking to us as much as we enjoyed seeing his collection.

Jerry's Junk is a mix of a private residence, an antique collection, and a junk yard -- all in a residential neighborhood. It spans several lots, but Jerry did come out and chat at length. He says he's selling off a bit more as "ya can't take it with you," and, unfortunately, his kids aren't interested in the legacy he's created. A chat with Jerry elevates this to a Must See.
