On a recent trip to Minnesota, my girlfriend and I decided to stop by Ed's Museum. Unfortunately, it was Sunday and the museum, and almost the entire town, were shut down. But alas a good ole Wykoff resident came to our rescue. She noticed me videotaping the building and pulled over her car to ask us if we wanted in. What is more, she said she couldn't stay but would unlock the museum and let us look around by ourselves until she could find someone to guide us through! Needless to say, we were impressed by the townspeople's kindness and trusting nature.
An interesting footnote to the story of Ed Krueger: we found out his son's name was Freddy. Freddy Krueger! Hmmm.

Ed's Museum rules! Wykoff is a Twilight Zone town in so many ways -- quiet, clean, trusting. We were impressed AND horrified during our tour that anyone would leave us alone -- even for a few minutes -- in a building full of breakables. Any future visitors should pay heed and not fracture the unspoken pact of manners between all who enter and the dormant spirit of Ed' dead cat.
