This meatpacking plant mural has been around since I can remember (and I'm 38 years old). It's actually real pretty and very colorful. It depicts a barnyard/farm with various breeds and different types of pigs going about what pigs do best: sleeping, eating, wallowing in mud, etc. There is also a big sow with piglets depicted.
If memory serves me, there are also farmhands depicted in the scene as well doing daily chores. Thank goodness there are no slaughterhouse scenes....only happy and tranquil pig life is depicted! The mural is so well done, it almost makes one forget what is really going on behind the cinder block wall.

We took this spontaneous detour out of a freeway snarl -- better to kill time examining a fantasy land of happy pigs on a meatpacking plant. One pig flies a plane, another is led on a rope by a buxom farm gal. The pig murals wrap around the building and continue down along the concrete river bank behind the plant. It's in a part of LA where real work gets done.
