This can't be just a drive-by as the full effect of his caveman awesomeness can only be appreciated in his park-like setting.
[Sistah Vaca, 06/21/2014]The first caveman statue was erected in 1956 at the North end of town on an island between 6th and another street to the east of 6th. This statue was destroyed, and for many years the replacement statue was erected beside the visitor's center. I think it was the best version of the three statues that I know of.

A local business paid the $2,500 to fix the Caveman [post-arson attack], and after some town debate, he is back in his rightful spot, at the entrance to town on 6th and Morgan St. He is located right outside the Town's Visitors Center, and he welcomes all to Grants Pass. He looks great, just like brand new.
