As of August 31 the head was installed and its sections are moving. As it was raining, I couldn't tell if water feature was active.

[Roy, 07/22/2019]Because Metalmorphosis is a moving, mechanical sculpture that spits water, it's occasionally disassembled for maintenance and repairs. Unfortunately, the repair crew has been bad at announcing when the sculpture will be gone and when it will return. Metalmorphosis is one of Charlotte's most popular sights, so it will return -- but we don't know when.
Metalmorphosis is up and running! It is shifting and moving. No water coming out of mouth though.
