Guardian of the Arts

A 13-foot statue called "Guardian of the Arts" is to be a time capsule for Amarillo Art 2009 at the end of Summer 2009. Built out of steel, it features an inside chamber that will contain the art.

This was just erected June 1st, 2009. Built by artist David Alan Corbin.

[Davelle Jones, 07/16/2009]

It looks like a scarecrow, but that might frighten away vandals until its scheduled opening in the future.
