With free admission, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) Elk Country Visitor Center is also one of America's premier destinations for conservation discovery.
The center features fun, hands-on exhibits for all ages, awesome displays of record elk, a western wildlife diorama, theater and nature trails -- not to mention clean restrooms. A gift shop offers souvenirs, beautiful wildlife art and many handcrafted and Montana-made creations.
RMEF is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat. Since 1984, RMEF has conserved or enhanced more than 5.5 million acres of elk country, mostly in the West. The organization also played a key role in restoring elk herds to several Eastern states, and continues to fund conservation education and hunting heritage projects nationwide.
