UTMB Ghost Image
Known as the "UTMB ghost" or "The Face," this sighting evolves from local lore about a gentleman whose likeness "haunts" Ewing Hall, a building on the UT medical school campus.
Legend has it that the man had admonished his family that, even after his death, his land in Galveston was never to be sold. He died and (of course) the family sold the land anyway. Then the medical school built a building there, and this apparently made the old boy angry. Since then, an image of the man's face has appeared on an exterior wall. The school is said to have sandblasted the image off of the building, only to find that it soon reappeared on a panel at the next lower level. And, removal of that image only resulted in it relocating itself one level even lower.
One account I read goes on to say that the image is allowed to remain where it is now for fear that its removal will result in the "ghost" moving inside the building via the door below its current position.
I went "ghost hunting" and saw this myself... Whether or not it's a ghost, and whether or not it's the image of the former landowner, there is most definitely a mysterious likeness of a man on the exterior wall of Ewing Hall.
