Population 23. Just talking to the women who owns the candy store (what looked like a couple of barrels of Weathers Originals) made the entire trip.

Shaniko is a little ghost town on US 97 between Madras and Biggs. There are lots of neat old building and a few have recently been refurbished. There was a rain/thunder storm while we were there so we didn't get out and look at anything close up, but worth the drive.

Shaniko, on Route 97 between Madras and Biggs, is a partial ghost town, a ghost of what it once was. Old buildings, couple free museums, hotel is for sale, and an ice cream parlor. Be sure and ask what the giant warehouse next to town is.
