Numini et Patriae Asto -- "They stood for God and their country." Very impressive monument to Confederate dead. There are inscriptions on each side.

There is a map of the graveyard on your right side as you drive in. The pyramid is to the right side of the massive graveyard. The whole place is pretty amazing. We stopped quickly as we were driving through Richmond. I was really impressed and hopefully will come back to spend extra time there.
If you see the pyramid, look to your right and you will see the grave of a little girl who died. Her grave has a black statue of a dog.
[Somayeh, 05/11/2012]Look up the song "Hollywood" by Hugo Duarte and give it a listen before you visit. It'll help set your mood for the experience.
[Ed, 11/23/2010]We visited this today, and it's truly a sight to behold. It's a little tricky to get to, and the gatekeeper was closing up shop, but he let us go look at it for a few minutes. I walked right through an icy spot [of air], but when I turned around, it was gone... oh well.
[Tiffany, 12/10/2007]This is a beautiful cemetery full of history and art. I loved riding around and looking at the dates on the stones. According to a local "ghost hunter," the Pyramid is supposed to have a lot of "supernatural" activity around it. It is said that in one corner at the base of the pyramid you can actually feel "ice cold" spots, which are apparently areas where spirits reside. There is also a crypt in the cemetery that is home to a local vampire.
