Perhaps only San Francisco has the temerity to put up a historical plaque at a place where a fictional event took place. On Bush St. at the entrance to Burritt Street, a plaque notes it is "approximately" the place where, in the Maltese Falcon novel, Brigid O'Shaughnessy did in Sam Spade's partner Miles Archer.
