Didn't see a plaque near it. There's some vegetation so if you don't know it's there it's a bit easy to miss.

Can not get at all close to the shoe house, but it's near other historical site.

This shoe is on Hwy 182 just west of the city of Lincolnton, in Lincoln County, NC. It is in the front yard of what was the Birthplace of James Pinckney Henderson, the first Governor of Texas. There is a historical marker stating this in front of the house. We first drove by this giant shoe a few months ago and yesterday I had the camera, so we stopped to photograph it.
