Booth grave.

Stop in the Green Mount cemetery office first to get a map. John Wilkes Booth is the biggest name buried here, but there are many other graves of interest. The tradition of leaving Lincoln head penny offerings is still as popular as ever.

For travelers interested in all things related to the Lincoln assassination (or the unfulfilled kidnapping conspiracy), Booth's comrades Samuel Arnold and Michael O'Laughlen are buried at Green Mount Cemetery as well. They can be found with a map given out at the office. Also interred in Baltimore is conspirator John Surratt, whose grave is at New Cathedral Cemetery six miles away.

Patriotic desecration! Visitors place LINCOLN head pennies on top of the Booth family gravestones as a form of solidarity with the fallen leader and disrespect for his killer.
