You have to park and take a short walk to see the Michael Houghton runner statue up close. It is a nice tribute to him. Sad thing is so many people run/walk/bike by it and never give it a second thought. It is worth your time to pay respects.

Incredibly sad story, but a blessing his parents wanted him forever memorialized. The statue can be seen from the parking lot and sits in the split between the bike and walker/runner lanes along the river. Michael RIP.

This entire river is lined with bronze sculptures, mostly of animals (elk, wolves, a bobcat clawing a pheasant, etc).
The runner appears to be the only human statue from what we saw. He's a very short walk north from the parking plaza.
