Everything around is free to visit (as they say, take all the dam pictures you want) but the guided tour was well worth the cost. You have to put up with some dam puns, but you see just about everything and get a whole different appreciation for it. It truly is a marvel. Just like with the Grand Canyon down the street: seeing it from the top is marvelous, but getting down in it is where you truly appreciate it and feel small.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, all dam tours weren't operating. The best we could do is walk around and take pix. A sight to behold, but missed the guided tour. Maybe next time.

Pretty sad how much the water level has dropped here at the Hoover Dam.
[Kendall, 09/07/2016]It is free to just walk over the dam. And most of the parking lots are free. Admission is only charged for the guided tour, and only the two lots closest to the dam charge money. Everything else is free.
