Livermore, California: Monument to a Futuristic Airship
In 1904, near Livermore, Charles Tolliver built a 250-foot-long Zeppelin with propellers on both ends. A small, rusting, wire-frame monument of the airship pays tribute to the idea, which failed to fly.
