Richmond, Virginia: Statue of "Bojangles" Robinson
Bojangles was a famous tap dancer who co-starred in several Shirley Temple films. His life-size aluminum statue stands on a street corner where he paid to have the traffic light installed.

The Bill "Bojangles" Robinson monument was sculpted in aluminum by Jack Witt and erected by the Astoria Beneficial Club on June 30, 1973. It's at the corner of Leigh and Adams, where in 1933 Robinson paid to have a stoplight installed after seeing two children trying to cross the busy intersection.
