Hook and Ladder 8 is the narrow, quirky old Tribeca firehouse used as "Ghostbusters" headquarters in the 1984 film and its many cartoon and video game spinoffs. The firefighters' badge features an x-ed out ghost logo. In 2012, it was on the city chopping block to be closed to save money.

I have finally had a chance to see Ghostbusters Headquarters. Came up out of the subway and it is right there.
[Dogsbreath, 08/12/2014]The exterior of Hook & Ladder 8 was also used in a 1995 Seinfeld episode titled "The Secret Code." I recognized it because I just watched that episode the other day.

This is an easy drive-by attraction. We stopped for pictures and were there for 2 minutes. It was a minimal detour on the route to where we were headed, but totally worth it.
