Supposedly one of the ten top haunted places in the US. The Lemp family went from being affluent beer barons to being dead from suicide (4 of the Lemp family members killed themselves with .38 handguns once their fortune crumbled).
The old Lemp mansion is still down the street from it. No fee to see inside. You can call in advance for a tour, but probably a few weeks in advance. We couldn't get a tour the day we called. The Lemp Mansion also serves lunch and dinner, which we had, eating alongside of a Paranormal Society and a guy who looked like Steven Spielberg. Uncanny. The mansion itself is odd. Features a public ladies' bathroom with a huge Victorian shower in the middle, as well as other curiosities.
Talked to a maid who said the attic and basement were especially haunted, if you are into that stuff. Has a gift shop and small museum area of Lemp merchandise. Apparently, they resurrected Lemp Beer in 2004. We found one place that had it, the pub down the street, but too scared to taste that bitter legacy!
