Ernest Warther was a prolific artist and an engineering genius. His carvings are intricate and amazing. His wifes 73,000+ buttons collection is beautifully mounted. The Warther family has continued the family tradition of hand-forged knife making - these can be purchased at the store next door to the museum.
We thought this would be a 30-minute visit. 2.5 hours and a gorgeous soft cheese knife purchase later, we were so pleased with having seen this outstanding place. A must see for carvers/woodworkers, steam train lovers, cooks who appreciate fine knives, etc.
