Barrel House Liquors Barrel

The plywood covering the barrel entrance has been removed. The store itself remains next door and the barrel storefront is still vacant, but the barrel is visible again.

The store moved next door due to high rents, but the barrel entrance still exists on the old storefront. Plans are to redevelop the property as residential apartments, but the new building is planned to preserve the barrel entrance from the liquor store.

The barrel has been hidden behind plywood for years. It was a brown, medium-size big barrel, and a large part of its charm was the "Barrel House Liquors" neon sign above it. We hope the property developer restores it to something worth looking at.

Before turning to liquor, this storefront once housed an auto dealership - for Rolls-Royce.

As you might expect, the liquor store's entry is framed by a large barrel that you enter through. The store's unusual doorway was constructed some time during the 1950s, and is a local attraction.

There is a parking lot around the corner that has a Barrel House Liquor sign with a large barrel on it as well.
