A very pretty statue in bronze. Very expressive. Lovers of traditional country must not forget. Patina makes it especially agreeable to see and to photograph.

The Gene Autry statue is at the corner of a busy intersection. Statue looks creepy at night.
[De, 09/04/2010]The Palm Springs Public Arts Commission originally banned this larger-than-life bronze statue of Gene Autry, because it was an exact copy of a statue outside of the Autry National Center of the American West in Los Angeles -- right down to Gene's singing cowboy guitar, fancy boots, and good-guy hat. Autry supporters insisted that it wasn't an exact copy, since the LA statue was accompanied by a statue of Gene Autry's horse. Since this was Palm Springs, the logic of this argument held sway, and Gene was unveiled in late 2009 in front of a shopping center bearing his name.
