That's the title of this old historical marker. "On learning owner planned to sell him 'down the river,' he escaped to Canada."

Around a dozen miles northeast of Owensboro. On the south side of US 60, slightly less than three miles east of the split from US 231 in Maceo, or 13 miles west of the intersection of Hwys 69/1389 in Hawesville.

The "Uncle Tom Lived Here" marker is on the right side of the road just outside Maceo, KY. According to the sign, it is the location of the Riley Farm, where Josiah Henson resided. He is the slave that the book was based upon.
