While there is still a mermaid at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, the older one that might have hosted hornets has been removed and replaced. The garden itself is a great attraction including 155 acres of azaleas, roses, camellias, hydrangeas and so much more. You can also find a children's water park, a butterfly house and a nesting bald eagle.

The photo shows live Norfolk ladies dressed as mermaids; we can't promise you'll see this on your visit.
