Paul Bunyan Statue and Birthplace
When we visited Paul Bunyan this month, the monument had been repaired and was in great shape! Also, there is a museum behind Paul; a sign says that it's only open when help is there, and unfortunately it was closed when we visited. On the same street, and not far from the Bunyan statue, is an awesome mural of Babe the Blue Ox on one of Akeley's downtown buildings.

Paul was damaged by vandal morons in July. Unfortunately, he will remain that way until the town can figure out who should be paid to repair him: a local body shop or the Krotzer family, which built the Bunyan in 1984.
