Swamis - Self-Realization Fellowship

With a waterfall, koi pond and beautiful meditation gardens coloring its grounds, Self-Realization Fellowship Encinitas offers serenity for its many visitors. Built in 1936, this is where Paramahansa Yogananda -- the founder of the nonprofit spiritual organization Self-Realization Fellowship -- spent many hours writing his timeless classic Autobiography of a Yogi. Inviting quiet reflection, the site is threaded with scenic walkways with ocean views.

Just below, don't miss the awe-inspiring Swami's Beach, so named for Yogananda and very popular among surfers.
