Stone Mountain, Georgia: Tupac Shakur Statue (Gone)
Tupac Amaru Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas in 1996, but for a few years he lived forever in Georgia, in bronze. The statue was hauled away in late 2015.

Apparently, the statue not only depicts a "reverent" 'Pac, but also an older one -- the guy we spoke to said the sculptor wanted to represent him as he may have looked at age 65. I'm not sure WHY, but it's def still worth a visit.
Side note: If the Center is closed, you can prob still see Tupac (sculpture is in middle of the park to the left of the parking lot :)

We stopped by the Tupac Center for the Arts last Sunday and were sad to see it closed and surrounded by a tall fence. Exploring the perimeter, we discovered a small entrance to the garden in the back and slipped in for a few photos. It's a beautiful garden filled with roses and a unique cross-shaped fountain with a much larger than life Tupac in the center. The statue is surrounded by plaques with his poetry in bronze.

- In the Peace Garden of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts. I-285 exit 39B. Drive east on Stone Mountain Fwy to exit 5, then drive south on Hwy 10/Memorial Drive for about three miles. Just past Hambrick Rd you'll see Piccadilly Cafeteria on the right; the entrance to the Center is just past this, on the right.
