The Goonies house is at the end of an uphill gravel road -- you can not drive up to the house. The current owners bought it in a foreclosure sale and are in the process of renovating it; they are more then willing to put up with goonies wanting to take pictures.

Astoria, Oregon was the main filming location for the Goonies movie.

On June 4-7, 2010 the city will be celebrating the opening of the Oregon Film Museum in the old County Jail, which was featured in the film. That weekend will also be the Goonies 25th Anniversary celebration with showings of the movie, events, a concert, and a confirmed appearance by Corey Feldman, who played "Mouth" in the movie.

Astoria is considered very movie-friendly, attracting location shooting on feel-good 1980s-90s classics such as: Short Circuit, Free Willy, and Kindergarten Cop.
