I just heard a story from a local old timer that after being forced to the outskirts of town by residents who didn't like the smell, the original owner of the rodeo symbolically positioned the cow with its rear end facing Woodstown to express his displeasure with the snooty townspeople.
[George Evans, 08/14/2012]The cowboy muffler man outside of the Cowtown Flea Market was repaired in a timely manner by the owner after high winds sent his torso and head rolling across US Route 40 in early 2005.
[B.F., 05/26/2006]Unfortunately, a reverse sighting of sorts. Recent high winds toppled the Muffler Man that stood as the Cowboy figure in front of the Cowtown Rodeo outside Woodstown, N.J. He stood for almost 40 years. A news article reports that the top part of him broke off so that only his legs were left standing. I have no information if he will or even can be repaired.
