Built in 1892, the U.S.S. Olympia was the "You may fire when you are ready, Gridley" battlewagon that help annihilate the Spanish fleet. Was in danger of sinking in 2011; Philadelphia rallied to save her in 2014. Can be admired from the adjacent riverwalk.

Make your way to the aft deck 0f the Warship Olympia and see the location where the Unknown Soldier from WWI was placed for the ride home. He is interred at Arlington Nation Cemetery Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers.
[Gan Nunnally, 10/02/2023]The Olympia is a real treasure that has been ignored far too long. It was the flagship of the Great White Fleet that established the US as a true world power. When Roosevelt said "Speak softly and carry a big stick." The "stick" was the Olympia and the fleet she led.
