The Elvis Fight Site Marker is alive and well! The text and image seem to have been removed temporarily when the lot changed hands, in order to remove an advertisement for the former occupant. But they are back now.
[David D, 04/24/2012]Alas. The text and Elvis figure that were on the granite marker are missing. Only the granite marker remains along with a ghostly shadow of where the Elvis figure was.

While in Madison in 1977, Elvis Presley stopped at a local gas station to break up a fight between 3 individuals. There is a marker commemorating the site.

- Tiny marker, easy to miss. On the north side of US-151/E. Washington Ave., just west of its intersection with N. Stoughton Rd, at the edge of a car dealership parking lot. Park in the lot of the abandoned building on the corner of US-151/E. Washington Ave. and Rowland Ave.; that's the lot where the fight actually took place!
