The marker is back! Lovely old tree-lined lane. You can't miss it. Yes! You would have to be brave to enter on Halloween! Plaque on entrance tree as well.

Oak and Pine Alley.

Creepy Oak and Pine Alley

A road out in the middle of St Martin Parish - there are sugar cane fields all around and then this oak-lined road pops up. Very thickly planted and old oaks line the entire road 1/2 mile or so.

As the story goes, wealthy plantation owner planted this row of trees. The historical marker notes he had a carriage for his daughter's wedding canopied with spider webs - and then dusted with silver and gold dust.

Awesome road to go down at night in the fall....maybe Halloween.

We hope that by then the historical marker will have returned. It was stolen only a month after we received this tip!
