Hike Quickly Over Uranium Nuke Plant Waste
There are LOTS of places to walk, and lots of birding enthusiasts. You can make arrangements to hike across the waste pile but you need to call ahead. There is no access to the waste pile unless you are with a guide!
There is an amusement park called Stricker's Grove and a mini kid village with tiny buildings across the street! Those attractions are only open in the summer.
[Cole I., 02/17/2017]The visitor center is LEED Platinum certified (1st in OH, very impressive) and the surrounding recovered wetlands are now home to 212 species of birds, with a small family of rare ducks (Garganey) being the most recent. Exhibits are first rate and very educational. It's somehow oddly inspiring that a former source of so much environmental harm ultimately set the standard for environmental clean up and cutting edge energy efficient building.
