Largest Catholic Church - Mortal Combat Jesus

Basilica located on the campus of the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Largest Catholic church in America, and full of brightly colored ceiling mosaics, stained glass windows, and chapels dedicated to the Virgin Mary, patroness of various countries. Guided or self-guided tours. Also includes a large Catholic-themed bookstore and a cafeteria.

Huge and free and worth a stop, and close to the Franciscan monastery (replica catacombs).
