The easternmost of 12 widely scattered 18-foot-tall tributes to the pioneer women who traveled west with their crazy husbands. The statue has been moved several times over the years, and now awkwardly faces east.

The Madonna of the Trail currently sits just to the right of the recently closed old Post Office in Bethesda, near the corner Wisconsin Ave. and Montgomery Ln.. She's been there a while, but who knows what will happen with the P.O. closing.
