- North side of the city, at the corner of Bissell St. and Blair Ave. I-70 exit 247. Drive southwest on Grand Ave. for one block. Turn left onto Blair Ave. and drive two blocks; the Tower will be straight ahead.

One of only seven surviving brick water towers in the U.S. (another is only three blocks away). Formerly there were 500. Basically a giant vertical pipe with a medieval-looking exterior. Built in 1886.

The Red Tower stands only a few blocks from The White Tower. Both are on the north side of the city, near the corner of Bissell St. and Blair Ave. The photo opportunity is a quick one, as there are not a lot of areas to park off of the circle that The Red Tower stands in.

We visited the Red and White Towers in 2012. The Red Tower actually seemed easier to visit than its White companion; less traffic. We struck up a conversation with one of its neighbors, who said that people stop by to snap pictures of The Red Tower all the time.
