In Springerville, the Madonna of the Trail monument is found on East Main Street, across the street from the Post Office. It was erected and dedicated on September 29, 1928 by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). It is one of a set of twelve identical monuments along the National Road which recognize the contributions of "Pioneer Mothers from the Covered Wagon Days."
