The McDonald's is now closed. There's a new, boring McDonald's across the street and west a couple of blocks.

It's a standard McD inside, but with a space theme kids area.
[Dana, 07/07/2014]The astronaut is not inflatable! It is built of fiberglass by Houston-based artist John Knott. He has built many other sculptures in Houston, including dino bones, the Giant Swallowtail Caterpillar (he has a small plaque next to it, but most of his work is uncredited) and "Dung Hill" at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and the "Skeleton Man on a Bicycle" at the Houston Health Museum.
Also, his work "Hot Rod Heffer" is part of the Houston Cow Parade.
