A sandstone slab, ten feet wide and twelve feet high, bears Runic alphabet inscriptions dating back thousands of years. Displayed outdoors inside a plexiglass box, which fogs up when it's humid.

When I visited a few years ago, early in the morning, I found the slab's plexiglass case fogged up and unlit. It was impossible to get a clear view of the stone, much less a decent picture.

Be ready to hike or walk steps at a steep incline. Closed toe shoes recommended. Saw three snakes by trail!
