The Talking Bear recording gives educational information loud and clear.
[Cheri Gracey, 07/13/2014]
Recording is clear, and loud enough to be heard over the traffic. Begins with a roar and gives lots of educational information about the California grizzly bear. Very interesting!
[Meg Zorn, 07/11/2014]The bear's voice isn't very loud, but the statue works. It was easy to find and worth a quick laugh!
[Steve Z., 10/07/2011]Nov. 2011: Tammy reported from a visit a few weeks later that the statue "Wouldn't talk for us."
A fiberglass grizzly bear sitting on the corner of state highway 41 and Madera county road 426. Recently refinished and new landscaping. You push the button and the bear speaks. Little kids seem to love it.
[Stan, 10/16/2000]So I was in Oakhurst, California for about a week last year -- it's just south of Yosemite Park. Anyway, the locals seem quite proud of their talking bear statue. It's not all that big, and when I was there it wasn't talking, apparently the victim of some local high school students. I have no idea what it's supposed to say -- no doubt some sort of self-promotion.
