Carved Larry Bird.

Giant Cattle and Horses

Giant bull, workhorses, cattle drive, and a wooden Larry Bird greet adventurers off the road in front of a western store.

Yellow Boot, Steer, Swamp Monster

The yellow boot is looking pretty downtrodden. The bull has either been painted more natural colors or has been replaced -- he looks metal from the road, and stands outside Pats Cafe.

Boot City Opry

This was a waste of time. The "big" yellow boot was not all that large and was in disrepair. The yellow steer with the "big" cojones was not even there!

Boot Opry.

Yellow Boot, Steer, Animated Quirk

The western apparel store Boot City advertises to folks on U.S. 41 heading north towards Terre Haute. This place is reported to have opened in 2007. Upon pulling into the parking lot, one notices a giant bright yellow boot with the word "OPRY" in neon, atop a pole in front of the adjacent Boot City Opry.

Further north along the complex, there is a bright yellow steer, with the largest set of cojones I had seen on a statue. That wasn't all -- farther up, I found Boot City's yellow limousine with a pair of horns on the roof.

Finally inside, you find a menagerie of quirky things, from the animated bison head to the display of a strange creature only described as the "Swamp Monster," which cleverly is the rear of a deer. A must-see combo-pack for quirky stuff!
