The Times Square grate is a very popular spot to stand for photos.
[Shaelyn, 11/11/2013]A sign explaining Neuhaus's art installation in Times Square is located inside the Times Square Museum at 1560 Broadway (between 46th and 47th), on the right-hand side at the end of the lobby. Here is an extract from the plaque: "Many who pass through the work will dismiss it as a mechanical sound from below ground. For those who find and accept the sound's anomaly, however, this island becomes a different place, separate but including its surrounding. Given the absence of any indication at the site that this invention has been deliberately made, people are able to claim Neuhaus's work as a place of their own discovering."
