Turkey nest on the spine.

Spine - Turkey Nest

A turkey nest is present on the top of the Giant Spine. You haven't ever seen a turkey's nest? Well they only nest on top of a Giant Spine, so you need one to go with the other! At least that is what I have told my patients.

It is just a way to make the people laugh when they drive by. For Halloween we had giant spiders climbing up the spine. For Christmas...well, just come and see.

The spine.

Giant Spine

Dr. David Ryan, a Columbus chiropractor, commissioned Jack Cantley to carve a 25' spine out of a dying silver maple tree in front of his office. You can't miss it as you drive down Cleveland Avenue!

Human spine carved from tree.

Tree-carved Spinal Column

This is a 25-foot high spine that was carved out of a silver maple tree. The tree was dying and instead of just cutting it down, I decided to have it carved by Jack Cantley, a local chainsaw carving artist.

It took two weeks to carve and is lit up for night time viewing. The statue is named "Palmer" after the founder of chiropractic medicine and is dedicated to all the chiropractic patients and their doctors. Anyone is welcome to stop and visit for a photo. Great place to study your spinal anatomy.

As improbable as it may seem, there is another chiropractor office, in Iowa, with an enormous human spine as yard art.
