History's Skid Marks: On August 22nd in 1995 a mysterious fire incinerated the lodge building above Secret Caverns, destroying decades of artifacts, historical displays, and merchandise, along with a jury-rigged hypno-wheel and a possibly valuable tapestry of dogs playing poker. Arson was the cause reported in the news; authorities found no evidence implicating any nearby rival cave. Secret Caverns clawed up out of the charred rubble to reestablish itself as "Your Fun King of Spelunking" with zany billboards ("America's Original Rockstar") and cave formations such as "Misshapen Bagel."

... [05/06/2007] Complete News StoryA rare artifact has been discovered and is on exhibit in Secret Caverns, Cobleskill, New York, reports veteran tour guide and billboard artist Todd DelMarter. Todd claims he discovered the "artifact" himself -- a pair of size-14 sneakers once worn by guide "Iggy" when chasing Hollywood star John Travolta.
