Plano's bomb.

Plano's 4,000 lb. Bomb

The bomb is located in a small memorial area that features a depiction of an eagle in the pavers on the ground and what appears to be an anti-aircraft gun opposite the bomb.

The Bomb.

Plano's 4,000 lb. Bomb

Bomb, light case, 4,000 lbs., AN/56. 77.3 percent of the bomb's weight is the explosive charge (3,245 lbs.). It's part of the obligatory "Lest We Forget" war memorial in Plano, about 50 miles west of Chicago.

[Dave Jacque, 11/07/2010]
