The quad where the robot lies also has a handful of other beautiful sculptures. The campus itself was founded in 1831 and is worth driving through to see many different eras of architecture. Only 10 minutes off highway 20.

Goldie 1971 is a marvelous sculpture located at the fine University of Alabama. I would say it's most definitely worth a detour. Plus you get to spend some time on the beautiful campus. Roll Tide
